How to set a goal and keep it!

As January 2017 is coming to a close, I would love to see a show of hands:

How many of you out there made some New Year’s resolutions?

Good for you! Positive change and self-improvement is awesome!

Now, how many of you have successfully kept your New Year’s resolutions?

It’s okay! Really, not a whole lot of people can raise their hands.

More than 70% of New Year’s resolutions are broken by the end of January.

But Heidi Ho Organics loves you (and we’re here to be your healthy living, plant-based cheerleader) so we gathered some tips to help you stick to your resolutions, set goals, and achieve something great!

Set a specific goal

If your resolution is to give up dairy (which we support 110% and have can provide you with a  much better option for you anyway), resolve to eat dairy at only one meal per day rather than resolving to eliminate dairy entirely. Once you are successful, begin to decrease your consumption further.

Write your resolution

WRITE IT BIG and put it somewhere you will see everyday and often. Do you use a calendar for work or just life in general? Set a recurring appointment to remind yourself daily of your goal.

Reward yourself at each milestone

Divide your goal into segments, note achievement benchmarks, and how you will celebrate.  Progress is progress and dammit, and you deserve a reward for all your hard work! You don’t want to backslide or trigger old habits so be aware of your choices.

Share your goals with family and friends

Support and accountability is critical. To greatly increase your chances of success, and we know, this kind of vulnerability takes some courage, include a friend or friends who will hold you accountable daily and weekly.
